Medicaid plays a central role in our healthcare system. It provides health and long-term care coverage to millions of low income children, pregnant women, adults, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. It also finances nearly a fifth of all personal health care spending in the U.S., providing significant financing for hospitals, physicians and many other roles in the health care sector.
